Well, 1.0-4 builds on armhf. So this bug is half-closed. I'm not quite sure how to adjust the cmake logic for Debian's armel architecture. For targets using neon, upstream supports cross compiling Open Embedded builds. Any patch for Debian armel won't go upstream if it breaks cross-builds.
