Firefox does support Xprint, when, as you noticed in your patch, XPSERVERLIST is defined. Do you mean that on your system XPSERVERLIST is not defined? It should be defined when the X session starts up, due to /etc/X11/Xsession.d/92xprint-xpserverlist. Is this script not being invoked for you? Which X login manager do you use (gdm, xdm) ?
