Thank you for reporting this bug on the debian package. The issue that you are seeing is an upstream bug that has been reported here : https://github.com/sosreport/sos/issues/586 While sosreport is actively kept bilingual (i.e. py2 and py3), it is by no mean exempt from bugs and some of them may be specific to python3. This situation is currently being actively investigated and, given the recent activity in the upstream bug, I will try to help out to reproduce and eventually identify a fix for the problem. Once the bug is fixed upstream, I will backport the patch to the current Debian version.
