I tried and, when I realized that without vimrc it worked, I started playing with my (bare) .vimrc and I found that I did place a "colorscheme" setting __before__ the "syntax on". Swapping them makes Ctrl+PgUp||PGDown working (in xterm). I know my settings din't make any sense and I'm sorry for the inconvenience. However, this side-effect looks a bit awkward. Do you think it deserves some attention?
