I already worked on packaging a new upstream version of sparse and fixing a few bugs that are reported in the BTS. I'm not a DD yet (but trying to become one) so for now I'm in need for a sponsor. Loïc Minier <lool> is an Uploader for sparse, I contacted him a few weeks ago (mid of June) by private mail and asked if he intends to take over maintenance or wants to do it together with me.
