Package: man2html Version: 1.6g-7 Severity: minor Dear Maintainer,
Attempt to access http://localhost/cgi-bin/man/man2html with browser as man2html package recommends fails with "Not found" error page. Easy fix is: % a2enmod cgid % service apache2 restart as described here: http://askubuntu.com/questions/571862/how-do-i-get-man2html- pages-to-show-in-the-browser or here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2199030 So as CGI has become disabled in default httpd installations these days, it would be nice to see some "red" note/warning in manpage and package description about need to turn CGI on. Install script may also check and print warning if apache is used as httpd and CGI mods are disabled, or it may try to access localhost/cgi-bin/man/man2html during post-install etc. -- System Information: Debian Release: 8.2 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.16.0-4-amd64 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=ru_UA.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=ru_UA.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages man2html depends on: ii apache2 [httpd-cgi] 2.4.10-10+deb8u3 ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.56 ii debianutils 4.4+b1 ii gawk 1:4.1.1+dfsg-1 ii libc6 2.19-18+deb8u1 ii man-db 2.7.0.2-5 ii man2html-base 1.6g-7 man2html recommends no packages.
