Package: libpolkit-gobject-1-0 Version: 0.105-12 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer,
two days ago, I installed updates on my Debian testing system that made polkit unusable. At first I noticed this when another one of the updates, cups-browsed, wouldn't install because it couldn't connect to polkit. When I started the system the next day, nothing could connect to polkit and gdm login failed. I noticed that the -backend package of libpolkit was version 0.105, while the -gobject and -client packages were versions 0.110. (Maybe those higher versions came in through dependencies when i installed a few packages from experimental some time ago.) Today I have downgraded those packages to 0.105, and polkit seems to be working again. I think the package dependencies need to be stricter, to make sure the backend has the same version. Thanks for your work!
