I just tried installing on a Dell Precision 380 using the i386 net install image (downloaded Dec. 12, 2005) and ran into this same issue (“error while running modprobe –v aic79xx). Is it possible that just a newer version of the aic79xx module needs to be included with the installer package? Please advise,
