I just got bitten by this myself, using pdfunite 0.24.5 (from
poppler-utils 0.24.5-2ubuntu4.2).

This could be fixed in a backward-compatible way by supporting two
syntaxes:

# Explicit:
pdfunite -o outfile infile...

# Error if outfile already exists:
pdfunite infile... outfile
