I found this Firefox bug for the issue: *** Tarball is double gzipped when downloaded with Firefox https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=610679 *** But as comment #29 and next messages suggest, maybe we can do something at server side to avoid this from happening.
