Not normally, no. Since the symlinks exist in the package corresponding to the traditional opposite architecture, I suppose you could technically work around the issue by declaring a build dependency on libc6-dev-amd64 [i386], but that would be an ugly, and potentially fragile, hack. > It uses 'gcc -dumpmachine'.
