Hmm, I appreciate that you ask me for confirmation, but really, I don't have so much time. Bear in mind that I submitted over 200 bugs like this. However, I'll give you a way to check that it's ok: Run "dpkg-buildpackage" with the old package. Then run "dpkg-buildpackage -B" and "dpkg-buildpackage -A" with the fixed package. Then run diffoscope to compare old and new .debs. diffoscope is the tool that we use in reproducible builds to check that a source package always generates the same .deb, but it's also the ideal tool to veriy that a change in debian/rules still generates the "same" .deb.
