I see the exact same problem - chromium becomes totally unusable (and the user nauseated); there is a delay of nearly a second after every keypress. Rendering about:blank takes half a second; all websites are visibly rendered from top to bottom, all with a completely new profile.
This is on a Thinkpad T440s with Intel Haswell-ULT GPU. Even after installing chromium-dbg, the stacktrace does not become any more helpful. Google's Chrome is not affected, it works fine. Starting chromium with --disable-seccomp-filter-sandbox fixes the problem at the expense of security.
