Package: xaos Version: 3.5+ds1-2 Severity: important Dear Maintainer,
on an i368 system, i get an illegal instruction segmentation fault during program startup. to work around this, i built the the .deb from source using dpkg-buildpackage, which allows xaos to run on this system. i am using the following dual core processor: $ cat /proc/cpuinfo processor : 0 vendor_id : GenuineIntel cpu family : 6 model : 14 model name : Intel(R) Core(TM) Duo CPU T2400 @ 1.83GHz stepping : 12 microcode : 0x54 cpu MHz : 1000.000 cache size : 2048 KB physical id : 0 siblings : 2 core id : 0 cpu cores : 2 apicid : 0 initial apicid : 0 fdiv_bug : no f00f_bug : no coma_bug : no fpu : yes fpu_exception : yes cpuid level : 10 wp : yes flags : fpu vme de pse tsc msr pae mce cx8 apic sep mtrr pge mca cmov clflush dts acpi mmx fxsr sse sse2 ss ht tm pbe nx constant_tsc arch_perfmon bts aperfmperf pni monitor vmx est tm2 xtpr pdcm dtherm bogomips : 3657.55 clflush size : 64 cache_alignment : 64 address sizes : 32 bits physical, 32 bits virtual power management: other i386 packages do not present this issue for me. it would be nice for xaos to be compiled to the base instruction set defined by debian i386. thanks -- System Information: Debian Release: 8.2 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable'), (320, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Foreign Architectures: amd64 Kernel: Linux 3.16.0-4-686-pae (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.utf8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) (ignored: LC_ALL set to en_US.utf8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages xaos depends on: ii libaa1 1.4p5-43 ii libc6 2.19-18+deb8u1 ii libgsl0ldbl 1.16+dfsg-2 ii libpng12-0 1.2.50-2+deb8u1 ii libx11-6 2:1.6.2-3 ii libxext6 2:1.3.3-1 ii zlib1g 1:1.2.8.dfsg-2+b1 xaos recommends no packages. xaos suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
