Bug #803716 mentions API changes which are fixed upstream. There is indeed a new upstream version. I tried to build it, but failed because it needs a Google API key at build time. I think this is not possible for Debian (and most others). If it is still possible to build the new upstream version, please do so. If it is not possible, please have the package removed from Debian, because the current version does not work either. As a note to upstream: NewPipe (https://github.com/theScrabi/NewPipe) has code that can access YouTube without any API key.
