Is it not possible to turn the deps on python-matplotlib, python
-opengl, python-pyqtgraph, python-qt4, python-qt4-gl, and perhaps
python-numpy and python-scipy all into recommends as well? (given that
that's what binwalk upstream appears to suggest)

To me, it seems that the likes of arj, bzip2, cramfsprogs, cramfsswap,
gzip, mtd-utils, ncompress, p7zip, p7zip-full, sleuthkit, squashfs
-tools, tar have a far better claim to be "depends" than any of those
(supposedly optional) libs that are currently "depends", as they are
needed for binwalk's core functionality, while the qt stuff is only
needed if you want to do graphing.
