Package: rsyslog
Version: 8.4.2-1+deb8u2
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

the gnome-session spams /var/log/{syslog,user.log,messages}. As a workaround I
tried ratelimiting by specifying "$RepeatedMsgContainsOriginalMsg on" in
/etc/rsyslog.d/local.conf. It had no effect.

I tried discarding a specific type of message with the line ":msg, contains,
"mutter-WARNING" ~". No effect.

In desperation, I tried the line ":msg, contains, "gnome-session" ~" but
gnome-session messages still turn up.

Despite my excitement, many thanks to you for maintaining this package.
