On the other hand, some of the individual packages I installed so I could comfortably run an X-session via “ssh -X” , such as xterm, xpdf, xinit, iceweasel, icedove, and a few others, do seem to drag in a lot of other stuff, much of it of questionable value on a headless machine. So maybe that accounts for my added size over your 617M. When I get a couple of spare hours, I’ll fire up a VM and see just how much is added by the various packages I routinely load as part of my “customization” procedure after an install. “Fascinating!” (said with one raised eyebrow and a slight tilt of the head…) Rick
