That's showing you the /dev/console in the initramfs. However, run- init will open it from the 'real' root filesystem. At the recovery shell prompt, what does "ls -l /root/dev/console" show? Ben. -- Ben Hutchings Horngren's Observation: Among economists, the real world is often a special case.
