Package: openjdk-7-jre-headless Version: 7u91-2.6.3-0ubuntu0.14.04.1 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable
Dear Maintainer, GNOME ATK bridge has been enabled in default configuration of openjdk-7 and openjdk-8 packages. This change caused a tremendous amount of bug reports since October 2015 from many users running Debian, Ubuntu and Mint distributions, here is the exhaustive list as of today: - https://josm.openstreetmap.de/ticket/11920 - https://josm.openstreetmap.de/ticket/12022 - https://josm.openstreetmap.de/ticket/12057 - https://josm.openstreetmap.de/ticket/12061 - https://josm.openstreetmap.de/ticket/12062 - https://josm.openstreetmap.de/ticket/12063 - https://josm.openstreetmap.de/ticket/12126 - https://josm.openstreetmap.de/ticket/12139 - https://josm.openstreetmap.de/ticket/12332 - https://josm.openstreetmap.de/ticket/12451 Basically the UI breaks at many places, EDT violations occur often, nasty display bugs are encountered. These problems have been reported upstream by several users, but GNOME ATK bridge seems unmaintained (no commit in the past 6 months). Please reconsider this change and disable the bridge until someone fixes these grave issues. Swing applications are unusable if ATK bridge is enabled. * What led up to the situation? #797595 re-enabled GNOME ATK bridge in default configuration of openjdk-7 #and openjdk-8 packages. * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? Commenting out assistive_technologies=org.GNOME.Accessibility.AtkWrapper line in /etc/java-[7/8]-openjdk/accessibility.properties resolves the issue. -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers trusty-updates APT policy: (500, 'trusty-updates'), (500, 'trusty-security'), (500, 'trusty'), (100, 'trusty-backports') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.13.0-66-generic (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages openjdk-7-jre-headless depends on: ii ca-certificates-java 20130815ubuntu1 ii java-common 0.51 ii libc6 2.19-0ubuntu6.6 ii libcups2 1.7.2-0ubuntu1.7 ii libfontconfig1 2.11.0-0ubuntu4.1 ii libfreetype6 2.5.2-1ubuntu2.5 ii libgcc1 1:4.9.3-0ubuntu4 ii libglib2.0-0 2.40.2-0ubuntu1 ii libjpeg8 8c-2ubuntu8 ii libkrb5-3 1.12+dfsg-2ubuntu5.2 ii liblcms2-2 2.5-0ubuntu4 ii libnss3 2:3.19.2.1-0ubuntu0.14.04.2 ii libpcsclite1 1.8.10-1ubuntu1 ii libpulse0 1:4.0-0ubuntu11.1 ii libsctp1 1.0.15+dfsg-1 ii libstdc++6 4.8.4-2ubuntu1~14.04 ii multiarch-support 2.19-0ubuntu6.6 ii tzdata-java 2015g-0ubuntu0.14.04 ii zlib1g 1:1.2.8.dfsg-1ubuntu1 openjdk-7-jre-headless recommends no packages.
