I put that in my todo list but I ended up switching to roxterm instead. Since the switch, I get no screen garbled, no lines missing from scrollback, no mutt getting confused by a SIGWINCH during early startup caused by terminator opening with its extra toolbar and then hiding it right away, and mouse paste working well in vim, so I don't anticipate using terminator again for several months.
