Hello, when running mkinitramfs or update-initramfs the same bug hits the generation of initial ramdisk. Afterwards the system is booting into kernel panic. Ramdisk consists only of this /kernel/microcode/... tree.
Linux HOSTNAME 4.3.0-1-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 4.3.5-1 (2016-02-06) x86_64 GNU/Linux stretch/sid Fix booted from older kernel, apt-get remove intel-microcode, update-initramfs -u -k all, reboot. -- Regards, Dirk
