The Debian packaged version of proxychains is very old. Is there any chance it could be updated? According to this ubuntu report for the same issue from 2013, the maintainer announced in a forum on the original sourceforge site that development had moved to github: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/proxychains/+bug/1109235 The proxychains package on github is currently at 4.11, about 2.5 years newer than the Debian/sourceforge version.
