Package: gnome-power-manager Version: 3.14.1-1 Followup-For: Bug #719268 Hi!
My self-described-incompetent friend informed me of this exact issue after an upgrade from wheezy to jessie recently. It turns out my "incompetent" friend was more capable than me at figuring out a workaround: http://askubuntu.com/a/66422 Enlightened, I thought others could be interested in the Knowledge. It turns out that you can "Alt-right-click" on the top menu to add applets, including a battery status applet. A. PS: This seems to be a regression from wheezy to jessie. There is also no obvious way of configuring the actions on power issues. I am sure, however, that my brilliant friend will be able to tell us if there's a way to fix that as well. My friend encourages you to try to figure it out first. :) -- System Information: Debian Release: 8.3 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'proposed-updates'), (500, 'stable'), (500, 'oldstable'), (1, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 4.2.0-0.bpo.1-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=fr_CA.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fr_CA.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages gnome-power-manager depends on: ii dbus-x11 1.8.20-0+deb8u1 ii dconf-gsettings-backend [gsettings-backend] 0.22.0-1 ii gnome-settings-daemon 3.14.2-3 ii libc6 2.19-18+deb8u4 ii libcairo2 1.14.0-2.1 ii libglib2.0-0 2.42.1-1+b1 ii libgtk-3-0 3.14.5-1+deb8u1 ii libpango-1.0-0 1.36.8-3 ii libpangocairo-1.0-0 1.36.8-3 ii libupower-glib3 0.99.1-3.2 ii upower 0.99.1-3.2 gnome-power-manager recommends no packages.
