By the power of assumptions! :-) (and the memory since IIRC all
compression related transition issues were fixed a couple of releases
ago. Maybe I was wrong, it seems to have happened before 0.8.8).

(The same way you both assume that I know what the problem is. But it
works for me. And the reporter didn't upgrade to the latest version).

If you see the errors in unstable please send some logs, web/expiration
log, ls-lR listing from the cache.
