Package: debian-installer Severity: wishlist Hi,
Where I can understand the service to the user for presenting her the whole disks, it feels wrong to do this also for LVM installs. Explaining: Guided partitioning with seperate /var and /home, makes big /home partitions. Guided partitioning with seperate /var/ and /home on LVM, assigns all remaining Physical Extents to the /home file system. Probably due thinking in partitions. After installs with Logical Volumes, I start with reducing the size of the /home FS to get P.E. available, to create /srv/ file systems. During install I have been waiting on creation of the too big /home. Wish: The guided LVM install creates only a small /home f.s. Benefits: - faster install due quick `mkfs /home` - having PE available for extra filesystems, most likely the reason for using LVM Groeten Geert Stappers
