hello, just a quick feedback, as tried the sample .ps attached to 1st msg on my Woody system: gs 6.53 and a backported gs-gpl 8.01 on Woody have no problem with it. Tried also gs-esp 7.07.1-9 and gs-gpl 8.01-5 on a Sarge system (P4 laptop) with no problems. Perhaps running gs[-gpl] playa.ps instead of gv may show some redable info on stderr on terminal.
