Hi Scott, Yes, it is obsolete since april 2014: https://mail.gnome.org/archives/desktop-devel-list/2014-April/msg00086.html 3 different themes (gnome-icon-theme, it's symbolic version and gnome-cursors) were merged into one: adwaita-icon-theme.
