Hello, The issue I have with your patch is that it will apply ata_piix.prefer_ms_hyperv=0 no matter what hypervisor is being used.
I am currently working on a solution to implement architecture specific configurations to kdump-tools. If I can identify an element that will tell me that we are running on HyperV, then I will apply this HyperV specific change to /etc/default/kdump-tools so it is taken into account when kdump-config runs. If you are aware of a command or file that could tell me that kdump-tools is being installed on an HyperV VM, this would help me out.
