Package: u-boot-sunxi
Version: 2016.03+dfsg1-4
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

at first I installed Debian testing onto A20-OLinuXino-Lime2, which
rendered the system unbootable. First installing Debian stable and than
dist-upgrading to Debian unstable worked fine.

However, when I installed the u-boot from u-boot-sunxi from the unstable
package (using
dd if=/usr/lib/u-boot/A20-OLinuXino-Lime2/u-boot-sunxi-with-spl.bin
of=/dev/mmcblk0 bs=1k seek=8
), the system failed again to boot. I could boot the system using
"setargs cmdline init=/bin/bash", systemd was not able to start even in
rescue mode. I tried booting via sysvinit, which crashed shortly after
executing "if udevadm trigger --action=add; then" from /etc/init.d/udev.
After disabling this stanza I could boot and login to my system.

Running "udevadm monitor" while executing "udevadm trigger --action=add"
delivered .e.g. the following lines until the system crashed:

The last version of u-boot-sunxi which enabled the system to boot
properly was 2015.10+dfsg1-3. Switching to Linux 4.6.0 from experimental
did not help.

Are there further any information which might be helpful to further
investigate this issue (especially for the case that you do not have
access to this kind of SBC)?

Kind regards,
Benedikt Wildenhain
