update-initramfs only touches your new kernel.

i left the bug open to see if other submitters would voice themself,
as none did we can close it i guess.

Thanks for the feedback, I can confirm that the problem no longer seems to be present with a recent version of initramfs-tools. I still believe that one of the earlier versions did behave differently though (as all of my initramfs images were updated), but that is no longer relevant. The bug can be closed...

By the way, what is meant by "updating the default kernel version", which version is considered to be default?
