Hello everybody, this bug seems realy annoying.
lightdm-gtk-greeter in version 1.8.5-2 is used together with lightdm 1.10.3-3 (Debian jessie latest updates) The Language-Selection or honoring of user-settings in .dmrc is not really working consistently in most of the known Login-Managers (tested on Jessie: lightdm, kdm, gdm3). Only thing that worked for me was to set export LANG=de_DE.UTF-8 in .bashrc Will this get fixed anytime soon? Please try to fix this or tell me if you need help. Thanks in advance. P.S: I don't want to sound rude, and this is not pointed to the maintainer here directly, but: Why can such Bugs life that long? And even reappear over 2-3 versions? No wonder that the acceptance for Linux on desktops is so low if such small but annoying things reappear every 2nd dist-upgrade. How should a casual user get around this whole stuff? I don't get it. -- ┌─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┐ │ ││ ││ ││ │bee Baastrup EDV-Entwicklung GmbH Pasqual Brettner │ │ ││ ││ ││ ││ │Schwanenwall 40 Anwendungsentwicklung │ │ ││\\ //\\ //\\ │44135 Dortmund / Deutschland p.brett...@bee.de │ │ ││// \\¯¯ \\¯¯ │Fon: 0231 / 58719 - 0 www.bee.de │ │ ││ ││ ││ │Fax: 0231 / 58719 - 50 xing.to/PasqualBrettner │ │─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────│ │ │Geschäftsführer Stefan Rower │ │ │Handelsregistergericht Amtsgericht Dortmund │ │ │Handelsregisternummer HRB 12333 │ └─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘
