Most thinks keep on working with a running old dirmngr or gpg-agent. But it is not a good idea to do this. gpg prints a warning if it connects to an older dirmngr or gpg-agent (also with a --status-fd line). Shalom-Salam, Werner -- Die Gedanken sind frei.
