Thanks for the offer. I was hoping for something less time consuming :) but I will look into packaging Spyder for Debian if that's what it takes.
I believe Ghislain Vaillant (copied in) was thinking at some point to work on updating the Spyder package, so I'll wait a few days to give him and Pippa a chance to reply in order to avoid any duplicated effort.
