Hi, first of all thanks for the fix. I was back-porting it to an older Ubuntu release which is still based on 1.4.0.7. While my upload was in review one asked a question that I'll have to pass to you for confirmation:
"dpkg-maintscript-helper also needs to be called from the postinst and the postrm, according to dpkg-maintscript-helper(1), to finish processing for all use cases." I came up with the idea it might even have been intentional so that even on a abort-upgrade/abort-install the bad config stays away, but I'm clearly not sure, so I ask you for confirmation.
