I don't understand why would you (just) close this bug. Merely because reproducer is no longer valid and you "have enough bugs open"?? But the problem is still there... It shouldn't be too hard to find (or made) package with versioned dependency satisfy-able from "experimental" only... At least you should be able to test if resolver fails on unsatisfiable versioned dependencies instead of silently installing older versions than required. It is understandable if you can't address the issue yet or choose to prioritise other bugs.
