Package: qemu Version: 1:2.6+dfsg-3 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, I think qemu-system-s390x needs the file s390-ccw.img to be able to run. It throws an error message if you try to start QEMU without it:
$ qemu-system-s390x qemu-system-s390x: Initialization of device s390-ipl failed: could not find stage1 bootloader Copying s390-ccw.img from QEMU's source (/pc-bios/s390-ccw.img) into /usr/share/qemu/ fixes this problem. It seems that this error is related to this bug https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=684909 Greetings, Bruno PS: If you need a s390x image for debugging I can provide you one. -- System Information: Debian Release: stretch/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 4.6.0-1-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages qemu depends on: ii qemu-system 1:2.6+dfsg-3 ii qemu-user 1:2.6+dfsg-3 ii qemu-utils 1:2.6+dfsg-3 qemu recommends no packages.
