Yes, the bug is definitely still not fixed. Jerome sent a patch for this (in cc), available here: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=723763#35 The patch is incomplete: we need unit test coverage for it, and just make sure it passes tests.
