The library is no longer used by the TV playout system in <URL: http://www.frikanalen.no/ >, as we reimplemented it using MLT instead (new implementation available from <URL: https://github.com/Frikanalen/mltplayout >), so I have no longer any interest in getting python-vlc into Debian.
