It is used to get some kind of machine readable format, but don't ask me why --list-packets was chosen as such interface (perhaps at the time there was nothing else?), this is way beyond my time. I have no problem with switching to something more appropriate though, so I'll be doing that for the next upstream release. Thanks for the notice! Regards, Guillem
