Nope, sorry, it was 0.1.5-4. -5 failed to build and started it all.

Compiling -5 here produces:

$ ls /usr/bin/octave*
/usr/bin/octave         /usr/bin/octave-bug

/usr/bin/octave-config-2.1.72  /usr/bin/octave-depends-2.1.72

Adding a symlink makes it compile fine. And I am able to install
octave-gpc, finally.
