Did you notice that there is already an upstream ticket about packaging for debian (https://github.com/restic/restic/issues/355) and even a repository setup for that purpose (https://github.com/restic/pkg-Debian)? It looks like there is no activity since February in both locations, but still it could be worthwhile to contact the people who already started packaging for debian. > I think this backup program will be a nice addition to Debian.
