The old version of the postrm may still be called. Since the faulty code never made to a stable release, I don't think this is worth fixing it. In your case, you can edit /var/lib/dpkg/info/exabgp.postrm and remove the following line: dpkg-maintscript-helper rm_conffile "$f" -- "$@" ; fi -- Use data arrays to avoid repetitive control sequences. - The Elements of Programming Style (Kernighan & Plauger)
