I haven't been able to reproduce the fatal error either. I wonder if perhaps it has some dependency on the user's language settings, as the original reporter has LANG=sv_SE.UTF-8. I tried setting my LANG to sv_SE.UTF-8 but still wasn't able to repro, but maybe I didn't do it correctly.
