If I disable systemd.socket (systemd.service being enabled) I can get what I 
want, which is the same as I previously described in my first mail.

Yes, at this point it's clearly an issue with systemd's sockets and not mpd, 
even if I can't fix it with Matthew's instructions nor setting net/ipv6/
bindv6only to 0 (I wonder what on earth is doing that on my machine).

Florian: thanks *a lot* for dealing with this non-bug all this time. At least 
we know what to do in case some other user has this same issue.
