Dear Maintainer,

I am also seeing this bug in sid. Downgrading to the testing package worked for
me. I am currently putting it on hold until there is a fix confirmed. Below is
the error I am seeing,

dpkg-maintscript-helper: error: dpkg: error: version '' has bad syntax: version
string is empty
dpkg: error processing package tlp (--remove):
subprocess installed pre-removal script returned error exit status 1
dpkg-maintscript-helper: error: dpkg: error: version '' has bad syntax: version
string is empty
dpkg: error while cleaning up:
subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Errors were encountered while processing:
 tlp
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
