Hi Jan, Yes, the binary packages won't install on Sarge because of libraries clashes as experienced by you.
However, recompiling them on Sarge (using dpkg-buildpackage -us -uc -rfakeroot) should work - so, compiling the source it would be. Do you think you could do this? (If not I might be able to provide you with packages compiled for Sarge.)
