I cannot reproduce the bug on a new machine with inkscape 0.91-12, i.e. the SVG file looks fine in inkscape, whether I use my ~/.config/fontconfig/fonts.conf file or not. > Note: I initially used the above code to avoid bitmap fonts. So, either this has been fixed in inkscape, or something significant has changed on the system (e.g. in fontconfig).
