FWIW, a simple: sudo cp /lib/udev/rules.d/52-nut-usbups.rules /etc/udev/rules.d/63-nut-usbups.rules fixed this issue for me on a jessie system, with freshly installed nut-server 2.7.2-4 (I never had nut-server installed on this system before).
