I gave alsa several tries. The best what I ever was able to get out was some cracking sound that breaks more when I move the mouse. The worst was several kernel panic. On the other hand, OSS always worked. I wrote once with the current OSS4 maintainer. I think, it is pretty easy and strait forward to fix it. I will have a look into that bugs. But in this case there was a more complex logic implemented just to break OSS wittingly.
